SALEM, IL — A 61-year-old Rockford man was stuck inside his semi when live power lines fell onto his trailer after he clipped a guy wire to a power pole around lunchtime Thursday near Salem.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Jeffrey Lindberg was uninjured when he struck the guy wire on Edgewood Road near the Tonti Road intersection northeast of Salem.

Lindberg was reportedly able to get out of the truck without incident after Tri-County Electric cut power to the downed lines.
