HARRISBURG — The Harrisburg City Council has approved the purchase of a 2009 Ford 550 Bucket Truck for the city’s street department. The purchase will cost the city about $18,000.
Harrisburg Mayor John McPeek says street department officials are going to check out the truck soon, and it’s needed to help save future taxpayer dollars.
Some citizens spoke their concerns about the possible new business district and the tax that would come with the district at Thursday’s public hearing. McPeek says the vote on that new district won’t come for at least another 60 days.
Also at Thursday’s meeting, the council approved to spend community development block grant money on a water main project by West Side School.
