CARBONDALE, IL — Two more people have been arrested in connection with a shooting that happened last week in the 400 block of East Chestnut Street in Carbondale
According to Carbondale Police, 27-year-old Deaundre R. Wimberly of Carbondale was arrested and charged Sunday with aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful use of weapons by a felon. Police found Wimberly in the 400 block of East Oak Street Sunday and arrested him on the warrant. Police also arrested 28-year-old Josten T. Denwood of Carbondale Friday in the 400 block of East Chestnut Street and charged him with aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful use of weapons by a felon.
27-year-old William J. Stewart was arrested following the original March 23rd shooting and a later standoff with officers on East Ashley Street. Stewart was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and aggravated discharge of a firearm. Stewart had fled into a home in the 400 block of East Chestnut Street following a shooting in a parking lot that was found out to be caused by a dispute among acquaintances that led to gunfire.
All are lodged in the Jackson County Jail.
