MT. VERNON — Do you have a resolution for the new year? According to the U.S. News and World Report, 80 percent of resolutions will be broken, and most will be broken in the next month. But one resolution that you can’t afford to give up is getting or staying in shape.

Ethan Brant is a personal trainer at Anytime Fitness in Mt. Vernon. He says if you’re just starting back to the gym, don’t set the bar too high at the beginning.

Brant says in addition to the health benefits of exercise, going to the gym can also relieve stress and help people to make new friends.
