MARION — A semi driver from Texas is recovering after being involved in a one-vehicle crash early Thursday morning in Williamson County.

Illinois State Police say shortly before 5, Ronnie D. Poindexter of Houston was driving his 2013 Freightliner with and enclosed semi-trailer north on I-57 at milepost 44 when he over-corrected when exiting the median, crossed both lanes of northbound traffic and left the roadway to the right where it overturned.

One lane of I-57 was closed for eight hours for scene clean-up.

Poindexter was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
