MT. VERNON, IL — Infrastructure was the hot topic at the Mt. Vernon City Council meeting Tuesday night. The council approved 5 different bids for city wide projects including the purchase of a hydro-excavator and replacement of water mains on multiple areas of town.
City Manager Mary Ellen Bechtel says the council is excited to upgrade the city’s infrastructure.
Bid results were approved for storm sewer replacement projects on Mannen Street as well as 17th & College. Gilbert Street also received bid results for a sanitary sewer project that was approved.
Councilman Ray Botch thanked the workers and all those involved with completing these many projects around the city.
