MCLEANSBORO — A Hamilton County couple has been charged with domestic battery after Hamilton County 911 received a call about a man at 300 S. Hancock Street in McLeansboro that had been allegedly struck by his wife in a vehicle around 5:30 Friday morning.
McLeansboro Police Chief John Taylor says when Officer Kelsey Bowman arrived; she spoke with Paul Nelloms who stated that his wife had struck him with the car in the front yard and also struck the air conditioner next to the home.
Nelloms said the woman, identified as Angie Nelloms, fled toward Eldorado. Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputy Matt Bryson located Angie Nelloms in Dale. Angie Nelloms said that she and Paul Nelloms had been involved in a physical altercation in which Paul Nelloms struck her multiple times. The couple refused medical treatment.
Both Paul and Angie Nelloms were taken into custody for domestic battery and taken to the White County Jail pending bond being set by a judge.
