FAYETTE COUNTY — A 60-year old Vandalia man has been arrested and charged with allegedly violating bond in a case in which he is charged with four counts of production of child pornography.
Dennis J. Pickens appeared in Fayette County Court on Monday following his warrant arrest for allegedly contacting the victims in the original case.
Prosecutors claim that after being released June 28 on $70,000 bond in the 2018 case charging him with four Class X felony counts of production of child pornography, Pickens “knowingly violated a condition of that release in that said defendant attempted to make third party contact with the victims” listed in the case.”
Pickens is scheduled for bond hearing Wednesday morning on the most recent charge of Class 1 felony violation of bail bond on a Class X felony offense.
Prior to being released on bond in late June, Pickens had been held in the Fayette County Jail since late September on the four Class X charges.
According to court records, Pickens is accused of having produced four videos, three depicting a victim under the age of 18 and one video containing two victims under the age of 18.
A pretrial order was entered in September barring Pickens from any contact with the victims or their family including persons under the age of 18.
