WAMAC — Bail has been set at $300,000 for a 41-year-old Wamac man accused of firing a gun toward a woman in his home during a reported domestic violence incident.

Ryan Garrison was formally charged Thursday in Marion County court with Class X felony of aggravated discharge of a firearm within 1,000 feet of a school, Class X felony unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and Class 2 felony aggravated domestic battery.

According to court records, in addition to firing a gun at the woman, Garrison is alleged to have attempted to strangle her.

He’s next scheduled to appear in court July 2, for a preliminary hearing and first appearance with his court appointed attorney.
