CARTERVILLE — A Carterville man was charged Tuesday in Williamson County in connection with a weekend shooting that killed one man and injured one other.
Williamson County State’s Attorney Brandon Zanotti says 55-year-old Alan B. Conner was charged with three counts of first degree murder for 38-year-old Dustin R. Bean of Herrin, two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm – both Class X felonies – and one count attempted murder of 42-year-old Jody Price of Cambria – also a Class X felony.
Zanotti says authorities and paramedics responded to the intersection of East Vermont Street and Walnut Street in Cambria Saturday morning following a 911 call. Both Bean and Price were found shot at the location. Bean succumbed to his injuries and passed away. Price is currently hospitalized from the wounds.
Connor is being held in the Williamson County Jail on a $1 million bond.
Zanotti says the investigation is still ongoing and there is nothing further to report at this time.
