MT. VERNON — The city of Mt. Vernon will be removing the interim tag from both their acting police and fire chiefs. Kevin Sargent will be the new chief of the Mt. Vernon Fire Department while Trent Page will take charge of the Mt. Vernon Police Department.

The pair will be sworn in at a ceremony on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Mt. Vernon City Hall.
