A 20-year-old former Centralia man pleaded guilty Wednesday in Marion County court a new and lesser charge stemming from an alleged home invasion and aggravated discharge of a firearm.

Bryce Bradley who now resides in Belleville, was accused of being one of three men who entered a home in the 900 block of East Broadway in July 2017 that resulted in an exchange of gunfire with the homeowner.

During the exchange of gunfire, two males with Bradley and James Powers were struck– a 22-year-old in the abdomen and a 16-year-old in the groin. Both males were ultimately airlifted to a St. Louis area hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Bradley was arrested a short time later and Powers was arrested a few days later.

Both Powers and Bradley were charged with Class X home invasion with a firearm, Class 1 felony aggravated discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, and Class 1 felony residential burglary.

Powers pleaded guilty in January to the residential burglary charge and was sentenced to 8-years in prison.

Bradley pleaded guilty Wednesday to an added charge of Class 4 criminal trespass to a residence and will be sentenced July 18. The other charges were dismissed. A Class 4 felony is punishable by up to one year in prison.
