A 34-year-old Centralia man and 26-year-old Hoffman man were both killed early Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash at Illinois 161 and Illinois 127 in Clinton County.

According to the Illinois State Police, around 5:50 a.m., Kermit J. Stinde, of Centralia, was traveling eastbound in a black 2009 Ford Expedition on Illinois 161 at Illinois 127 while John Davis Jr., of Hoffman was driving a 2002 gray Ford Escape westbound on 161.

Stinde reportedly crossed the center line and his vehicle struck Davis’ vehicle.

The Clinton County Coroner pronounced both men dead at the scene. There were no other occupants in either vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police.
