A 40-year-old Centralia man was injured Sunday night in a motorcycle crash on Green Street Road.

Passersby noticed a motorcycle in a ditch just east of West Line Road on Green Street Road and turned around to see if anyone was injured.

The two men reportedly found the driver of the motorcycle in the ditch unconscious and unresponsive and they called for help.

Police, fire, and EMS responded to the scene and a medical helicopter was dispatched. The driver was airlifted to St. Louis University Hospital with head and back injuries. He was reportedly scheduled for surgery on Monday.
