The Mt. Vernon Board of Education hired Altamont Superintendent Jeff Fritchtnitch to become the new Superintendent of schools.

Fritchtnitch, who has been the Altamont superintendent for the last 10 years, originally had plans to retire as the Altamont superintendent in just a couple years but says Mt. Vernon is a good opportunity for him and his family.

Fritchtnitch will assume duties in Mt. Vernon starting July 1 after he completes this current school year.
