An investigation into reported sexual abuse over the weekend in Franklin County has lead to the arrest of a Du Quoin man.

Franklin County Sheriff Don Jones says 39-year-old Toby E. Dearmond is being held in the Franklin County Jail on two counts of criminal sexual abuse. Both are Class 4 felonies.

Jones says deputies began their investigation Monday night into the alleged incident that happened Sunday at Diesel Mud Ranch, which is located west of Zeigler and south of Illinois 149. The incident is alleged to have happened during the evening hours with the alleged victims – two adult women – reporting the crime.

The investigation led to Dearmond’s arrest and charges.

The sheriff says the investigation continues. More arrests and charges are possible.
