Illinois Realtors’ reports that Illinois statewide home sales were down by 4-percent in the month of September. That is down compared to the September 2016 numbers.

In Clinton County, 31 homes were sold in September, down by 6.1-percent from last year.
The Statewide Median Price in September was right at $192,500, up by 6.9-percent from September 2016. The median is a typical market price where half the homes sold for more and half sold for less.
In Washington County, the median price was down by 2.2-percent, for a figure of $90,000. In 2016, it was at $92,000.
The median price in Clinton County was $118,500, down from $125,000 or 5.6-percent from September of 2016. So far for the 9 months in the year, we have seen 74 homes sold in Washington County. That number is up by just under 29-percent from last year, which was at 59. The average price of a home this year is $104,000, up from $86,000 in 2016.
Clinton County has seen 221 homes sold so far this year, down by 1.3-percent or by 3 homes from last year. The average price of a home in Clinton County this year is $199,450, down by 1.9-percent from last year. Last years’ number was at $121,750. Homes were on the market an average of 51 days in Illinois, down from 58 days last year.
In Washington County, homes were on the market for an average of 156 days, up from 149 in September 2016. Clinton County homes are on the market an average of 84 days in 2017, down from 95 homes or by 11.6-percent from last year.
