Centralia police have released more details of a Monday night armed robbery.
According to Police Chief Brian Atchison, they received a report around 10:15 p.m. Monday from the Huck’s gas station and convenience store on East Calumet that a black male wearing a black hoodie and dark jeans entered the store and displayed a handgun.
Before fleeing the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect reportedly struck one of the two clerks in the head with the handgun. No other injuries were reported.
The robbery came just days after FuelVend Express on North Poplar in Centralia was robbed and exactly a week after the armed robbery of the Family Dollar Store on North Elm.
The FuelVend robbery was reported around 8:25 Saturday night. Two black males reportedly entered the store with one displaying a handgun. They left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.
On Monday, October 16, two male subjects reportedly entered the Family Dollar Store just before 9 p.m. A handgun was displayed and the subjects fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Chief Atchison is appealing to the public for any information on this recent string of robberies.
