MT. VERNON — The City of Mt. Vernon has announced the closure of Veteran’s Memorial Drive at 28th Street on Tuesday, Sept. 26.

The city along with a contractor will install a new sewer main to a manhole that is in the eastbound lane of Veteran’s Memorial Drive. The closure will be in the evening from 6:00 p.m. Tuesday until 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

To accommodate truck traffic a detour will be established from 10th Street to Broadway and/or Main Street and then onto 34th Street.
