MURPHYSBORO — Jackson County authorities have identified the victims from an early Monday morning double homicide near Murphysboro.

65-year-old Burl E. Ritcheson and 66-year-old Brenda K. Ritcheson were discovered following a 9-1-1 call just after midnight Monday. Police reported to the residence on Maes Road in rural Murphysboro after a caller reported that two people were possibly dead inside the home.

The Sheriff’s Office, Crime Scene Investigators and Coroner’s Office were all on the scene. There aren’t any reports of arrests or suspects at this time.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
