MACON COUNTY — A 65-year-old Centralia man has been charged in Macon County Court with felony child sex abuse.

Joseph R. Beckmann, of Chipwood Lane, was formally charged Tuesday in Macon County Court with Class 2 felony aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim under the age of 13.
He had earlier posted bond and been released from the Macon County Jail. We’ve reached out to Macon County authorities for further information into the charge against Beckmann.
At this point online court records appear to show the Macon County case against Beckman was opened late last year.
He’s due back in court September 8 for an arraignment on the charge. It’s unclear at this time if he has hired an attorney in the matter.
