(MT. VERNON, IL) — A jury needed just 90 minutes to find a Mt. Vernon man guilty Wednesday of charges of armed habitual criminal, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, and unlawful possession of a defaced firearm. A fourth charge of unlawful possession with the intent to deliver 10-30 grams of cannabis was dismissed in the case of 32 year old Joevon Taylor. Taylor is being held at the Jefferson County Justice Center with his bond revoked. He faces a sentencing status hearing at 1:30 p.m. on May 2nd.
