(MT. VERNON, IL) — The Mt. Vernon City Council met Monday evening.  Among items on the agenda, the City Manager requested and approved permission to seek bids for sewer improvements on Northbrook Drive, for the expansion of the Aquatic Zoo parking lot, and for improvements to the Lincoln Park parking lot.  The City Attorney gave a second reading of an ordinance annexing real estate to the City of Mt. Vernon, which was tabled for a future meeting to be announced, first readings of ordinances regarding the sale of fireworks, increasing the number of restaurants with lounge licenses, which were both approved, and service agreements with Westport Pools for services at the Aquatic Zoo and with Jefferson County Sports Authority for concession services, which were tabled.  Finally, the discussion concerning a proposed development to include a manufactured home park was tabled until a further date.
