(CHICAGO, IL) — The National Council for Home Safety and Security Tuesday released its annual Safest Cities in Illinois Report for 2017 and one Perry County city made the list. Pinckneyville comes in at number 22 on the list of 50 the council put together after it combined data from the most recent FBI crime reports, population data and its own research to create the rankings. Waterloo, Western Springs, Winfield, Hawthorn Woods and Campton Hills are in the top five. The National Council for Home Safety and Security is a trade association comprised of home security professionals across the country.
