(MT. VERNON, IL) — A neighborhood dispute led to the arrest of a Mt. Vernon man late Saturday night. Authorities responded to a call of a disturbance at 1209 South 26th Street at 11:46 p.m. There, they arrested 29 year old Moses Curtis on charges of disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property between $300 and $10,000, and criminal damage to property under $300. Arrest reports indicate a disturbance escalated when Curtis became upset, brandished a knife, punched a hole through a wall and kicked in a door at the initial residence and proceeded to bust a window out of the residence at 1211 South 26th Street. Curtis was transported to the Jefferson County Justice Center where he awaits the formal filing of bond and setting of his initial court date.
