(MT. VERNON, IL) — Numerous people were arrested Wednesday in Jefferson County as local law enforcement began an effort of locating and arresting people wanted on drug-related warrants throughout Mt. Vernon and Jefferson County. As of 1 p.m. Wednesday, the Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department arrested nine of the 19 people sought in ongoing investigations by the MVPD/JCSO Narcotics Division. Among those arrested Wednesday were Patrick Keef for Possession of Controlled Substance; James Jennings for Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Delivery of a Look Alike Controlled Substance; June Patterson for Delivery of Heroin; Tina Gammon for Delivery of Controlled Substance; Judson Connaway for Possession of Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Equipment; Brittany Bunton for Possession of Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Equipment; and David Birke for Possession of Controlled Substance. MVPD reminds you that those arrested are considered innocent unless proven guilty.
