(BREESE, IL) — A 24-year-old Breese man was sentenced Wednesday in Clinton County court to 2-years in prison, after he pleaded guilty to stabbing a male juvenile in 2016. James Keck was arrested in January 2016 and charged with felony aggravated battery using a deadly weapon. nBail was set at $20,000 and Keck was freed on $2,000 cash bond and prohibited from having contact with the victim. As the case proceeded through the court, a notice to appear following a continuance was returned to the clerk’s office as undeliverable and unable to forward. Keck was subsequently arrested and charged in a separate case and has remained in custody since that time. In addition to his prison sentence, Keck was ordered to pay $1,100 in fines and fees. In the separate case, Keck was sentenced to 2 years in prison for a Class 3 felony charge of burglary and a Class 1 felony charge of residential burglary was dismissed per the plea agreement. In that case he was ordered to pay $900 in fines and fees.
