(VANDALIA, IL) — Both sides in a child pornography case against a 56-year-old Vandalia man announced in Fayette County Court Tuesday that they are ready to take the case to trial. William Frakes is set to be tried in front of a jury February 20, on two Class X felony charges of possessing child pornography of victims under the age of 13 depicted in a sadistic manner, and Class 2 felony possessing child pornography photos of victims under the age of 13. A jury trial setting in the case was previously confirmed for January 3, but that date was vacated when a new defense attorney was entered in the case. Frakes is accused of possessing child-pornography, including two claiming the depictions were of children under the age of 13 in bondage type situations. Frakes was arrested on the charges in July 2016 and has remained in the Fayette County Jail since that time, with bail set at $350,000.
