INA – A death investigation continues in Jefferson County after a man was found dead inside a vehicle at the Speedway truck stop in Ina late Friday afternoon.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of an unresponsive man in a vehicle at the truck stop around 5:20 p.m. They found 34-year-old John D. Nickerson, of Williston, ND, inside a GMC Suburban parked there. EMS personnel were already on scene and said Nickerson was dead. Sheriff’s detectives, along with the County Coroner and ISP Crime Scene technicians were notified and responded.

The coroner declared Nickerson dead at the scene. An autopsy will be performed.
