
Bradley Scott Hails, 59, of Woodlawn, Illinois, passed away at 4:27 pm August 7, 2025 at his residence. He was born May 15, 1966 in Centralia, Illinois to the late Roy I. and Marjorie L. (Gaskins) Hails. Brad married Debra (Douthit) Hails on August 3, 1996 at Fouts Christian Church in Centralia, Illinois.
In addition to his beloved wife of twenty-nine years, Brad is survived by his children, Troy Hails and wife, Jen, Kaci Dunbar and husband, Klayton, and Haden Hails, all of Woodlawn; grandchildren, Daemean, Cale, Taylen, Treyson, Kreedance, and expecting in late August, Koraline; brothers, Roger Hails and wife, Diana and Doug Hails and wife, Karen, all of Centralia; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; mother-in-law, Mary Douthit of Dix; and brother-in-law, David Douthit of Dix.
In addition to his parents, Brad was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Charles Douthit.
Brad worked as a lineman for Tri-County for thirty-one years. He also farmed for several years. He was a member of IBEW and on the Jefferson County Farm Bureau Board. Brad was President of Fouts Cemetery and an Elder and Deacon at Fouts Christian Church for forty years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Brad will be missed dearly.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Fouts Christian Church in Centralia, Illinois. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 15, 2025 at 10:00 am at Fouts Christian Church in Centralia, Illinois with Mr. Jerry Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Fouts Cemetery in Centralia, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Brad’s honor to Fouts Cemetery.
