SALEM, IL — The Salem City Council has approved a new city manager and police chief. While the identity of the new city manager is being withheld until her current city informs her council of her departure, Mayor Nic Farley highlighted her extensive experience in economic development and grant acquisition. The new police chief, Todd Boles, a lieutenant from Charleston, Illinois, was chosen after a thorough selection process. Both leaders are set to begin their roles in the coming months.
