MT. VERNON – The City of Mt. Vernon says the first phase of asphalt paving on Apricot Street will begin Wednesday. The street will be closed to all traffic from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Paving on Wednesday will cover Apricot Street from Cherry Street to Cherry Street (by Jamison Park). Apricot Street will be closed to all traffic during this time, and no street parking will be permitted. Residents should park on adjacent streets or in the back alley.

Then on Thursday, paving will continue, covering Apricot Street from Cherry Street to Blackberry Street. The same closure times and parking restrictions will apply.

You should plan accordingly and follow all posted signs and instructions for your safety.
