CLAY COUNTY — A 26-year-old Flora man remains in the Clay County Jail this morning following his arrest on a warrant charging him with two Class X felony counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.

According to Illinois State Police, Braxton D. Allen is accused of incidents alleged to have happened between May 1, 2021, and May 31, 2021, in Clay County.

On April 11, 2024, ISP was requested by the Flora Police Department to investigate the allegations.

ISP says after a thorough investigation, the case was presented to Clay County State’s Attorney and the warrant was secured for Allen’s arrest.

Flora police officers took him into custody on the warrant Monday and he was transported to the Clay County Jail to await an appearance in court.

ISP was assisted by the Flora Police Department, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, and Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. No further information is available at this time.
