MOUNT VERNON — The Mt. Vernon City Council will meet Tuesday night for their regular monthly meeting that was pushed forward one day due to the Presidents’ Day holiday.

During the meeting, the council will address numerous agenda items, including a resolution approving a water rate increase in Woodlawn, Belle Rive, Bluford, and Waltonville villages, as well as the Dix-Kell Water Commission, and Northeast Water Company.

The council will also hear resolutions calling for rezoning agriculture property on Illinois Highway 37, and another at 9391 East Illinois Highway 15.

These items and others will be addressed at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the City Council Chambers of City Hall at 1100 Main Street in Mt. Vernon.
