WASHINGTON COUNTY — Judge Daniel Emge ordered a 22-year-old Nashville man to remain in the Washington County Jail Thursday on multiple charges including home invasion.

According to court records, Wyatt Goza was advised in court Tuesday of the charges against him and a detention hearing was scheduled for Thursday, when Judge Emge ordered the defendant to remain in the Washington County Jail.

Nashville police stated around 7:30 p.m. Monday, January 15, they responded to the 500 block of West Chester Street on a report of a domestic dispute, but it was ultimately determined in was only a verbal altercation.

One person at the scene was taken into custody on an outstanding Perry County warrant.

However, officers were later called back to the same address for a reported home invasion and active battery taking place.

Upon their arrival, officers reportedly found a male subject – later identified as Goza — punching another individual who was unconscious.

Officers placed Goza under arrest and EMS was called to evaluate the injured individual.

But police say as they were taking Goza to a squad car, he allegedly threatened and attempted to disarm one officer and when they managed to get him into the back seat of a squad car, he kicked the door causing significant damage.

He was taken to the Washington County Jail where he was secured into a restraint chair until he calmed down.

He was ultimately charged with Class X felony home invasion causing injury, and Class 2 felonies for aggravated domestic battery involving strangling, attempting to disarm a police officer, and aggravated battery of a police officer.

He’s next scheduled to appear January 30 in Washington County Court for a preliminary hearing in the case.
