MOUNT VERNON — A 51-year-old Centralia man is due to appear today in federal court in East St. Louis for an arraignment on a 12-count indictment charging him with meth-related offenses.

Jason A. Barnes was arrested Thursday night by Mt. Vernon police on a federal arrest warrant issued last month.

Barnes is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on a hold for the U.S. Marshal’s Office.

CountS 1 and 2 of the indictment charge Barnes with conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute methamphetamine. The remaining charges accuse him of distribution of meth.

Additional details remain sealed until after this afternoon’s arraignment.
