William “B” Hook, 86, of Dahlgren, IL passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at White Oak Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Mt. Vernon, IL.

William was born November 9, 1936 in Dahlgren, IL the son of Otis B. & Erma (Millenbine) Hook.  “B” was retired from working as an expert machinist for Caterpillar in Joliet, IL after 30 years of employment.  Upon his retirement, he moved home to Dahlgren and took care of his mother and father as a live-in caretaker until their passing.  He was a lover of music, and loved to play guitar.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he was a multi-talented person who could do anything he put his mind to.  He was a loving father and he enjoyed spending time with his family & friends.

B is survived by a son Dean (Jennifer) Hook of Clarksville, TN; a daughter Shari (Pedro) Torres of Ft. Smith, AR; a son Jerry D (Julie) Hook of Woodlawn, IL; 2 grandsons: Joshua Adams of Ft. Smith, AR and Jeremiah (Brittany) Adams of Belle Rive, IL; 7 great-grandchildren, a sister Sandra (Steve) Vandeveer of Fairfield, IL; a brother Gary (Janet) Hook of Dahlgren, IL and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Otis B. & Erma Hook.

Graveside services for William “B” Hook will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Dahlgren, IL with Pastor John Hefner officiating.  A private family viewing will be held prior to the public graveside service from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Gholson Funeral Home in Dahglren.
