MARION COUNTY — Think your vote doesn’t count? A Salem race in the last election has been decided by a single vote.
According to final numbers in the race between Tracy Crouch and Jeff Baldridge for a vacant city council seat, Crouch was victorious with 194 votes to Baldridge’s 193.
The race was too close to call on Election Day, but after county late arriving vote by mail and absentee ballots, Crouch came out the winner. She was ahead by only two votes the night of the election. Baldridge picked up one vote on a late-arriving ballot, but it wasn’t enough to push him ahead of Crouch.
The final numbers won’t be official until the April 25th election canvas.
