CENTRAL CITY — A Central City home scheduled for demolition next week was destroyed in a fire Wednesday.

According to Centralia Fire Protection District Chief Ross Boshera, the trailer home in the 300 block of North Harrison was a total loss.

Firefighters responded around 3:43 Wednesday afternoon and reported flames coming from the roof of the home upon their arrival.

Chief Boshera said the call initially indicated people were possibly inside the home at the time of the fire. But thankfully they were able to confirm no one was inside.

Sandoval and Centralia City firefighters provided mutual aid at the scene, while Odin and Irvington firefighters covered the Protection District’s station in the case of another call.

Firefighters remained on scene for about two hours.
