CENTRALIA — Centralia police arrested three St. Louis area men Wednesday following a high-speed pursuit south of town on Highway 51.

According to police, the Centralia Police Department in conjunction with the Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force arrested 25-year-old Frank Purtty, 28-year-old Ronnie D. Mottley, and 33-year-old Marquis Terrell Davis after they were allegedly found in the possession of a large amount of narcotics.

Centralia officers report they attempted to stop a vehicle in Centralia, but the vehicle fled. The officers pursued the vehicle that drove south on U.S. 51 and then exited traveling into Irvington.

The driver of the vehicle drove off the roadway and the vehicle became disabled in a ditch. Three individuals fled on foot and ran from the officers. Two of the suspects entered two separate residences, which were unoccupied at the time.

During the incident, Centralia K9 units were deployed and one of the K9 units reportedly tracked a suspect to the home where the suspect jumped out of a window and continued to flee.

The handler and K9 were able to take this suspect into custody. Both remaining suspects were pursued by agents and officers on foot and were also taken into custody.

All three subjects were ultimately taken to the Washington County Jail.Purtty is being held on charges of Possession with intent to deliver appx 321.5 grams of methamphetamine, Possession with intent to deliver 15-100 grams of cocaine — approximately 68.4 grams, Possession with intent to deliver 142.5 grams of fentanyl and as the alleged driver, was also issued numerous traffic citations in connection with the pursuit.

Mottley is being held on charges of Possession with intent to deliver appx 321.5 grams of methamphetamine, Possession with intent to deliver 15-100  grams of cocaine — approximately 68.4 grams, Possession with intent to deliver 142.5 grams of fentanyl, and Criminal trespass to a residence.

And Davis is being held on charges of Possession with intent to deliver appx 321.5 grams of methamphetamine, Possession with intent to deliver 15-100 grams of cocaine — approximately 68.4 grams, and Possession with intent to deliver 142.5 grams of fentanyl.

CPD is applauding the partnership between the Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force and Centralia PD for stopping the delivery of a significant amount of illegal substances to the city. They also thanked the Washington County Sheriff’s Office for assisting during the incident.
