GIBSON COUNTY, Ind. — Two Illinois women have been arrested Thursday following a high-speed chase in Indiana
According to police reports, 20-year-old Alexis Fairchild, of Salem, Illinois and her 36-year-old passenger Jadie [jay-dee] Jordan, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois fled an attempted traffic stop Thursday morning and took law enforcement on a pursuit through Knox and Gibson Counties in Indiana with speeds reaching over 100 mph.

Fairchild stopped the SUV she was driving after law enforcement lost sight of the vehicle in Gibson County. Minutes later, an Indiana State Trooper located the vehicle parked down a long driveway that led to a heavily wooded area and field.

Jadie Jordan was detained but Fairchild fled on foot before officers arrived. Law enforcement searched the area and the local fire department utilized its drone with thermal imaging capabilities, but could not locate Fairchild.

When officers searched the vehicle, they found a small amount of marijuana. Jordan was arrested for possession of marijuana and transported to the Gibson County Jail. A wanted check on the vehicle revealed it had been reported stolen out of Centralia, Illinois.

Later that morning, the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting a female walking in the area where the suspect vehicle from the chase was located.

The female was identified as Alexis Fairchild and after a brief on-scene investigation, she was arrested and taken to the Gibson County Jail where she is currently being held on bond.
