MARION COUNTY — An 82-year-old Central City man was sentenced Tuesday in Marion County Court to 30 months probation after he pleaded guilty to Class 4 felony unlawful restraint of a 12-year-old girl.

Vince Ayala was facing three Class 4 felony offenses – two of criminal sexual abuse, and one of unlawful restraint.

He agreed to plead guilty to the unlawful restraint charge in exchange for the other two being dismissed and a sentence of probation.

According to Central City Police, Vince Ayala was arrested following an investigation into an October 2021 incident at his home where he is accused of restraining and sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl who lives in the neighborhood.

Police say the Ayala took the girl into his home where he committed a sex act.

When the girl attempted to leave, Ayala pulled her back into the room.

She was ultimately allowed to leave after telling him she would be missed if she didn’t show up soon for an activity.
