Nancy Lee Speidel, 86, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away on January 2, 2023.  Nancy was born May 28, 1936, in Flora, Illinois, the daughter of Ralph and Martha Neff.  She was preceded in death by her brothers Bob Neff and James Neff.   She also lost two sons, Michael Eugene Speidel in 2010 and Jeffrey Wayne Speidel in 2018.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Norman Eugene Speidel, her sister Ella Burgess, her daughter Cathy Speidel Connolly, her daughter in law Ann Speidel, daughter in law Lila Speidel, her grandchildren, Lonnie Speidel, Kim Speidel van Rossum, Christina Speidel Cheek, Amanda Speidel-Bahm, Abby Speidel Costner and Anthony Shepherd whom she helped raise like her own.  She is survived by her nieces Pam Burgess, Angie Peregoy, Brett Neff and Karla Neff.  She has several great grandchildren.

Nancy was a giving person who loved to grow beautiful flowers.  She also had a knack for telling jokes that made people laugh. Nancy was a loving wife and mother.   She will be missed by all those who knew and cared for her.
