FARINA, IL — An 18-year-old Kinmundy man appeared in Fayette County Court Friday accused of child sexual assault.

Riley L. Smith Jr., was advised in court of the Class X felony charge against him of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child under the age of 13.

Bond in the case was set at $50,000 or 10 % cash. Smith was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim, her family or her home.

Smith was placed on home confinement and may only leave his home for court or medical appointments or treatments until further notice.

A pretrial hearing in the case was set for July 19. Farina police reportedly arrested Smith on the charge Wednesday.
