SALEM, IL — A 28-year-old Salem man has been arrested on burglary charges after sheriff’s deputies responding to a burglary report located him inside the home on State Route 37. Slade Thompson was free on bond in four other burglary cases at the time of his arrest Friday.

Deputies had responded to the home in the 2800 block of Route 37 after the homeowner allegedly saw someone kick in the door of his home on a security camera. Thompson had most recently been arrested in April on burglary and theft charges and had been arrested three other times on burglary charges since October of last year.

He was free on bond in each of the four cases at the time of Friday’s alleged incident.
