CENTRALIA, IL — A 23-year-old Centralia woman and a 14-year-old female juvenile are accused of attacking another woman with a crowbar Wednesday afternoon. According to Centralia police, Megan Alvey and the juvenile jumped out of a car Wednesday and attacked he woman as she was sitting on her front porch.
It’s believed they struck Brittany Stephens in the head with a crowbar or other type of tool. Stephens was transported to SSM Health ST. Mary’s Hospital for treatment. Alvey was formally charged Thursday in Marion County Court with Class 3 felony aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. The juvenile was given a notice to appear.
The two arrested had reportedly been involved in an earlier incident with Stephens.
