SALEM, IL — Salem police arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with a burglary Friday after he was found hiding under the bed of another home.
A neighbor alerted police to a possible burglary at a home in the 200 block of West Warmoth Street when seeing a man enter the home around noon and later leave the home with a TV and bag of clothes. Police ultimately developed Robert Gott Jr., as a suspect in the burglary and after receiving a tip Friday night of his whereabouts they located him hiding under a bed at home in the 400 block of East Church in Salem. He ws transported to the Marion County Jail to await the formal filing of charges and setting of bond.
According to police, the home was left unlocked and the stolen items have not yet been recovered.
