FAYETTE/MARION COUNTY, IL — A 30-year-old former St. Peter man has been arrested in connection with two alleged high speed police pursuits on his motorcycle. According to reports, Brandon Wells first fled from Farina Police around 3 p.m. Thursday at speeds up to 135 miles per hour northbound on Interstate 57 near Farina.
When he came back south after turning around at Edgewood, Wells was spotted by a Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy. He allegedly took off when the deputy attempted a traffic stop. The chase went to Lowe Road and then Robb Road before he turned into a field road and gave up after the cycle lay over. Wells was not injured. Wells is being held in the Marion County Jail for aggravated fleeing, no insurance, speeding and on a Fayette County warrant.
Farina Police charged Wells with speeding more than 35 miles per hour over the speed limit and attempting to flee and elude.
