MT. VERNON, IL — Crossroads Community Hospital’s Chief Executive Officer, William Davis, was recently recognized by Becker’s Hospital’s Review on its “75 Black Healthcare Leaders to Know.” The list highlights the work Black leaders and executives are doing in communities across the U.S.
“I am honored to be named among 75 black healthcare leaders to know in 2022,” said William Davis, CEO of Crossroads Community Hospital. “I am grateful to Becker’s Hospital Review for recognizing the importance of health equity and inclusion and for inspiring the next generation of healthcare leaders. As a place of healing, Crossroads Community Hospital is committed to ensuring health equity is a priority so that all members of our community feel safe, welcomed, and respected.”
Davis added, “This honor belongs to the Crossroads family, who welcomed me with open arms. I share this recognition with each team member who contributes to advancing health equity in our community.”
Davis began his tenure as Crossroads Community Hospital CEO in 2021. Since that time, Crossroads Community Hospital earned the 2022 Women’s Choice Award winner for Orthopedics and Emergency Care and a new accreditation, Comprehensive Center by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP®), for its Journey Weight Loss program. The MBSAQIP is a joint Quality Program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).
In the past year, the hospital implemented COVID-19 drive-up testing; improved access to care by adding new providers in Cardiology, Pulmonology, General Surgery; and a serenity room for team members.
In addition to his role at the hospital, Davis serves on the Illinois Rural Hospital Steering Committee, Jefferson Chamber Board, Jefferson County Economic Development Board, Rend Lake College Foundation Board, CEO Program Board, Hannah House Child Development Center Board, and more. He was named to the 2021 Southern Illinois Business Journal‘s “20 under 40” and has been awarded State of Illinois Volunteer of the Week.
