MT. VERNON, IL — Bond has been set at $200,000 for a 23-year-old Centralia man charged in Jefferson County Court with child sexual assault. Centralia police arrested Adam Prusz Monday on a Jefferson County warrant charging him with two Class X counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under the age of 13.

Mt. Vernon police investigated the incidents that are alleged to have taken place between April 2020 and September 2021, when Prusz lived in Mt. Vernon. The warrant for his arrest was issued Friday.

He’s next scheduled to appear in court April 26 for a preliminary hearing and a first appearance with his court appointed attorney.
